How we Plan to Empower 1850 Entrepreneurs and Employ 5550 with N3.7Billion Only - Victor Alexander Okhuese, Founder GENX

Victor Alexander Okhuese, Founder GENX
The Nigerian economy is a rich thriving and progressive economy and one of the fastest growing in Africa, however, the major challenge besetting it is its inability to spread active funds for productivity to the teeming population of unemployed and financially unempowered dependent community. At GENX, one of our core aims is human capacity development and empowerment, however, over the past years, we have discovered from meeting and training entrepreneurs in the various clusters available at GENX for the growth of the economy in Africa, that access to finance has always been the major setback of harnessing great ideas and innovation.

Moreso, a recent intervention put in place by the Bank of Industry in collaboration with the Federal Government to salvage this challenge by disbursing loan of N10Billion quarterly to 1,200 entrepreneurs has been a mirage.

Therefore, we came up with a set goal that we could work with the Federal Government or any Non-governmental organization, Internation Non-governmental organization, Seed Investor, Angel Investor to disburse loan/grant of N3.7Billion to 1850 Entrepreneurs, 50 from each state of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

The Global Entrepreneurship Network Exchange will collate and access pitch from each state and select loan/grant winning pitch from 50 entrepreneurs from each state and engage the entrepreneurs in a series of training and assessment after which they shall be placed as Apprentice CEOs under established business for a period of 6 Months.

Thereafter, the funds will be disbursed and monitored to avoid inappropriate usage and their businesses mentored.

The final goal, however, is to create about 5550 Jobs, and this will be achieved after the funded entrepreneurs have employed 3 each after a space of 1 year.

My Loud Thoughts on Recent Killings of Christian Women in Nigeria - Alexander Victor

This is the only public statement i will make about this issues, after this, i will not speak on or respond to any questions or comments on the matter. I thank everyone in advance for respecting my wishes to keep my thought about this issue unbiased.
My Deep Thoughts: Am a christian and 99% of my friends are not Christians which makes me a freelance socialite with no prejudice to any religions inclination and traditional background. Hence I would like to register as precise as possible my total displeasure, condemnation and disappointment on the gruesome murder of not just women but women of a particular religion by friends of other religious belief. Among many was the case of Late Mrs. Bridget in Kano Market whose head was hacked off her body on an account of Blasphemy which may or may not be true, but whether true or false, shouldn't God fight his battles by him self, beside He (God) promised to fight for us and we should hold our peace (Exodus 14:14). So should a God who can fight for us wait for us to fight for Him, well i don't think so. Of the many other cases is also the recent attack on Eunice in Abuja on 9/07/2016. Eunice was killed for preaching in her environ, a lawfull city of Abuja, an act (of preaching) which i did several times growing up as a christian (If its a crime to preach why have they not killed me, just thinking out loud). She probably was disturbing the residents of the area but the last time i check their is the FoI bill signed and implemented in Nigeria and no barrier to public preaching yet, the last i checked, except it happened some seconds ago.
My thoughts are deep and weighing in on me. As a christian, I have heard and seen Jesus blasphemed by my close and distant allies and yet all i do is pray for mercy for them, i have never and will never kill anyone for any reason good or bad no matter the rage but i wish like me all my friends and friends to be would think of others before thinking about themselves.
The killers of Bridget and Eunice should have a re-think, if they were in the women's shoes, hacked and killed in cold blood, will that be justice for them.
In conclusion, I love everyone, no matter your tribe, religious belief, character, life style, temperament, educational background, financial worth, personality, social status and disposition and that is why when you meet me and the first question you ask is which state are you from, trust me, we might have a good relationship because i believe you should treat me as you would treat anyone be it Hindu, Buddhist, Islam or Christian.

Photos: Blood trail and scissors leads to the arrest of mother who abandoned her newborn baby

A farmer found an abandoned newborn baby at his doorstep in Kampung Siantan Baru, Malaysia, today May 17.

The 51-year-old had just completed his prayers when he suddenly heard loud cries of a baby coming from outside his house around 5.30am. The man was astonished to find a baby girl abandoned on a chair in front of his house. The man immediately wrapped the baby girl in a piece of cloth and alerted the police.
Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) police chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Dev Kumar said a team was deployed to the village to investigate the case while the baby was rushed to the Serian Hospital for treatment.
Dev said the CID team led by Insp Mohd Fais Zubir found traces of blood and recovered a pair of scissors not far away from the house of the farmer.
"We believe the scissor was used the cut the umbilical cord of the baby," he said, adding that the blood trail led the CID team to the arrest of a 26-year-old woman, believed to be the mother of the baby, within the same housing estate.

"The woman appeared weak when police conducted checks inside her house. Our men also found traces of blood in one of the rooms," said Dev.
The woman was sent to the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching for treatment where she will be subsequently arrested under Section 317 of the Penal Code for abandonment of a child under 12 years of age by a parent.

Murder weapon used in the killing of Dr Ivye Umanah released (photo)

The prime suspect in the murder of Dr Ivye Umanah, Henry Silas is pictured right at the Force HQ in Uyo. Left is the weapon used by the suspect to deliver the fatal blow that killed Dr Umanah at her home. The rod sticking out of the evidence bag is a car axle, quite heavy. It was used and dumped in the compound. Dr Umanah was found murdered in her home on April 21st (read story here)

A family member gives an update below...

Yesterday the police commissioner called and requested to see the family only to tell us that they want to go to press today and that the idiot confessed that he did it alone out of anger and they believe him, that she was owing him and when he went to collect the money, she said she did not like his work, slapped him and slammed her door on him,he fell down as a result, got up in anger, picked up the weapon and hit her, that he did not mean to kill her. And the police believed it.
To this moment the police have not returned her atm cards recovered from this fool on the 20th of April when they let him go from the station and we got information that withdrawals have been made from that account, who did? we'll soon find out. From all we've seen at the house and his actions afterward, it's obvious this fool did not work alone and not of his own accord but why take the fall alone.
Our submission is that our sister was killed for something we don't know and by persons with deep pockets, Henry Silas only did their bidding.
Who is behind the killing of Dr Ivye Umanah and why is where we are now, this trash Henry is saying can't fly, not at all.
The Police is definitely compromised in this matter and must be looked into.

Asked why he set her on fire, Ifeanyi said "She had been out of the house and we asked her to come inside the house, she refused. So we poured Kerosene on her and that was it. It was when she wanted to run away. Nobody used matches on her, it was a lighter" - he said

EFCC arrest former Kaduna state governor, Ramalan Yero and ex PDP governorship candidate, Sagir Takai

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, yesterday night May 16th, arrested former Kaduna state governor, Ramalan Yero and a former PDP governorship candidate Kano state in the 2015 general elections, Salihu Sagir Takai. A source at EFCC told Daily Trust that both men were arrested in connection with the Deizani’s N23bn campaign largess.

The duo spent the night at the commission zonal office in Kano. Also the Secretary of PDP in Kano, Alhaji Auwalu Ibrahim Danzabuwa was also arrested.

Reacting to their arrest, a PDP Chieftain in Kano, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, said
“If the commission is serious about the fight against corruption, it should extend its operation to some APC members because they too shared campaign money during last general elections. This campaign fund is a tradition in Nigerian politics and all political parties did the same thing in 2015 election. On Monday, some operatives of the commission stormed our party’s campaign office and conducted a search. They were accompanied by the party’s secretary Auwalu Ibrahim Danzabuwa to our office for the search. This is injustice being mated against PDP members”.

A post on Webby Awards official website reads:
"The Webby Awards are excited to honor Kim Kardashian West with the inaugural Webby Break The Internet Award for her unparalleled success online. It would be difficult to underestimate the importance of Kim Kardashian West’s impact on the Internet. As the leading celebrity in terms of her online presence and understanding of how to connect with a global audience via social media, apps and online video, Kim has set the standard incredibly high. She has shaped our understanding of how someone or something can draw the popular attention of Internet users everywhere. To the degree that she’s created a new type of celebrity — publicizing her life to the benefit of herself and her family — is due to the Internet.
Kim’s preternatural sense of being in the public eye, sees her appearing at seemingly every major cultural moment, most notably, her support of Caitlyn Jenner’s sex change. Likewise, with her suite of apps including the latest, Kimoji, which skyrocketed to the top of the most-downloaded list, Kim has expanded her celebrity into new territories and, safe to say, to a high degree of success as well. For breaking the Internet and putting it back together in her likeness, it is our privilege to honor Kim Kardashian West with the first-ever Webby Break the Internet Award."
