Guinea Coach Mohammed Kanfory Bangoura said his team
will be more offensive in today’s first semi-final match of the CAF
Africa Nations Championship against Congo DR.
Guinea battled Zambia for 120 minutes, but won the ensuing
penalty shoot-out. He stated that flaws noticed in his team in the
quarter-final match has been rectified adding that there were no injury
concerns.
‘We we will be more offensive than defensive as we search
for early goals because this is like a final, we are going to play a
technical game and we will use our strikers, everything is possible and
its just determination in the field.’ the coach said.
Meanwhile Congo will miss enterprising forward Heritier
Luvumbu Nzinga who picked up a knee injury in their quarterfinal match
against hosts Rwanda.
‘It is a big blow to us losing Luvumbu to a knee injury
was the worst thing ,but I have players equal to the task, you know we
have had our clubs playing well in the continentals,AS Vita Club reached
the 2014 Finals and TP Mazembe won the 2016 Championships” said Congo
head coach Florent Ibenge
A total of five players were booked in their quarter final
match against Rwanda, and coach Ibenge said the match was physical
though he is expecting a less physical game from the speedy Guineans.
Congo DR will play the first semi final against Guinea tomorrow 4 pm at the Stade Amahoro in Kigali.
